Profile

Patricia Murphy is a full time professional artist who works from her studio in Blackrock, County Louth.

She is interested in the transformational and emotional impact of colour on people and places which is conveyed through expression of abstract paintings.

Her art practise is mainly exhibition and commission based and her choice of media depends on the commission. She uses paint and mixed media on a variety of surfaces from canvas, board, acrylic sheeting and steel.

Much of her smaller work is mixed media on silk or cotton which allows great spontaneity and vividness of colour. Patricia has exhibited widely in Ireland and abroad and has completed many commissions from large percent for art schemes for government bodies to corporate and private commissions.
